HIK has a five-year strategy to ensure that all of our employees are exposed to as much training as possible. We selected five employees from foreman and general worker levels to attend a multifaceted course, which covered all areas of aquaculture. It provided insight into the full life cycle of abalone as well as showing why our husbandry techniques are important. Topics covered included water quality, feed, animal health, economics, marketing and labour, to name a few.
All five of our employees passed with flying colours and achieved point allocations towards a registered qualification. They will progress to the next level towards the beginning of 2014.
